Why I'm absolutely in LOVE with my branding photos and how that impacts my craft...

I have said it before and I’ll say it again, when you find a photographer that makes you feel completely at home in front of the camera, someone that makes you feel seen and understands how to convey your authenticity, hold on to them and don’t let go. Make it weird. And make sure everyone knows just how happy you are with what they do.

Jamie is that person for me. I have the great privilege of working with her on the branding photos for the shop, but more than that, I get to call her a friend. Jamie has the most tender soul and is one of the most empathetic people I’ve ever met. This makes her incredibly intuitive and that makes her so amazing at what she does. Her magic comes out in her passion for uplifting others - especially women - and I can say firsthand that I’ve never felt more at home in a photoshoot than when she is behind the camera.

This last round of pictures is a glimpse into my witchy life at home, so Jamie came over and we talked, laughed (at my cats and my wardrobe malfunction!) and had some tea. All the while she was shooting and I wasn’t the least bit in my head about it! I felt completely at ease while she was there—I was just hanging out with my girl—and it translates in the pictures.

But, let me tell you how a photoshoot impacts my magical practice. It’s all in feeling at home with your own power. Because I am so at ease when Jamie takes my photos, that sense of ease and power and security is all there when I get my proofs. And let me tell you, having such an uplifting time recorded indelibly on film, is a forever reminder that that power and strength and ease is in me. It’s right there for everyone to see, me included. That reminder carries over into my work. When I doubt myself or feel like an imposter, all I have to do is look at these pictures. That strength courses through my work and comes out in everything I do.
